Local USPHS Officers Deploy to Haiti

In the context of the large relief effort underway, Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service were called upon assist HHS responders and military forces performance of duties by ensuring DMAT sites where the Haitian people are receiving medical care have adequate environmental health and sanitation. Officers are daily summarizing and working to standardize the reporting of the number of patients being seen at DMAT sites in Haiti.

It has been an honor to represent the CDC and USPHS to support the people of Haiti and responders affected by this tragedy.
